Have We Met Before, came to mind when I realized that I have painted this scene many times before. I guess I should point out that these scenes were not all in the same place. This type of visual coming together of shapes, colors, and values, grabs my attention. I have come across this kind of place in my own yard, as well as wherever my travels have taken me.
The painting also stirs up some mental images, for me anyway. A bright path into a dark and undefined distance seems to welcome the use of all kinds of metaphors. Perhaps, the painting should have been called,"Have We Metaphor?"
