About the Artist

   Tom lives with his wife, Mary in Medina, New York where he taught art for a number of years at the Oak Orchard Elementary School.  Tom studied and received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Art Education at the State University College at Buffalo.  He is also very proud of his sons, Evan and Drew and daughter-in-law Dawn who are also involved in the creative arts.

   Some of Tom's hobbies include fly fishing in the waters near his home and a life-long obsession with the guitar.  When traveling in the U.S. or Ireland Tom always makes sure to have paints available to document the adventure and takes lots of photos and sketches to draw inspiration from once he's returned home.

Artist's Statement

    For me, participating in the arts is as essential to my well-being as breathing.  It's something I just have to do.  I have been involved with many forms of artistic expression through the years but find that I'm very comfortable being identified as a landscape painter.  My paintings reflect a sense of place and pleasant feeling that I experience when I'm immersed in an environment that touches me and stirs my imagination.

   Combining the elements of art and design principles with my love of the natural world is my goal as well as transferring that vision and feeling to others.
